DUBAI ? The victims of violence at the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children were treated to a Suhoor meal ceremony at The Grand Millennium Hotel recently. The Suhoor which included a number of activities and entertainment, was donated by the hotel. The Dubai We Trust Organisation and The Dubai Land Department also participated in distributing Eid gifts to the abused victims.
Dr Mona Al Bahar, Deputy CEO for Care and Community Services at DFWAC, said that the Dubai Foundation For Women and Children has always sought to spread the spirit of intimacy and affection among the victims of violence residents at the Foundation, and encourage their reintegration into society after leaving the Foundation.“I would like to thank the Care and Rehabilitation Department which provides psychological and social support, as well as the Grand Millennium Hotel, Dubai, We Trust Organisation and Dubai Land Department for this initiative. We are very grateful for their contributions, which offer a strong support to social issues in the community,” said Al Bahar. Badria Al Faresi, Acting Director of Care and Rehabilitation, and Roudha Al Bahari, Activities Coordinator at DFWAC, organised the Suhoor.She said that the main objective of hosting this event was to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan with the victims of violence and to encourage their involvement in the community through entertainment and distribution of Eid gifts to them. The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children also plays an active role in the protection and prevention of women and children who have been exposed to violence, as well as community outreach programmes aimed at strengthening the human spirit. — news@khaleejtimes.comView the original article here
