DUBAI - The Dubai Health Authority will open two medical fitness centres for visa purposes in 2012, said a top official. Maisa Al Bustani, Director of Medical Fitness at the DHA, said, ?We currently have 16 medical fitness centres located across Dubai and we are adding two more centres in populated and high-demand areas of Dubai. This will help further streamline our services.?
Al Bustani said the DHA will open the centres in Bur Dubai and Deira areas. ?These are areas where we see the need to add our services. These areas are very accessible and we are confident that adding our services to these locations will provide customers with easy access to medical fitness services.?Mandatory medical fitness tests are compulsory for all expatriates in the UAE for the issuance or renewal of their employment, residence or student visas.Al Bustani said that 950,000 individuals have used the medical fitness services over the last two years, of whom 94,000 individuals have used the VIP services.?The Medical Fitness Department caters to different types of services to fulfil the needs of various customers. For instance, all customers who wish to avail of the VIP medical fitness services can approach the express counters at a few of our DHA centres.
